A page for music promoters

A promoter is judged on history, and a promoter history lives in flyers: dozens of square images across four years of Instagram, unsearchable and unreadable to anyone who was not already following. The page is the version an agent can actually check.

Who opens a promoter page

Two people, with opposite questions. An agent deciding whether to route their artist through you wants to know who else you have booked and how big the rooms are. An artist pitching to play wants to know how to pitch and whether it is worth it. Both are asking a version of "are you real", and both answers are historical.

The part Instagram cannot do

A grid of flyers proves you did something, but it cannot be scanned. Nobody scrolls two years back to count. A list of past events — name, venue, date — is less beautiful and answers the question in four seconds.

  • Upcoming events with ticket links, so the page also sells.
  • Past events — the archive, as a list rather than images.
  • The artists you have brought, which is the strongest thing you have.
  • How to pitch — a form with the fields you actually need.

Making the pitch form do work

Every promoter gets sent links with no context. A form can require what you always end up asking for — the link, the city the act is based in, whether they have played the city before — and turn an unusable message into a decision you can make in one read.

It also gives you something to say no with. "We book from the form" is a complete answer to a DM, and it is not rude.

If you also manage artists

Promoting and managing are different pages: one is about events, the other about people. If you represent artists as well, the roster page is the one that lists them, and nothing stops you having both.

Can I list events I did not organise?

You can list what you want, but a history that includes nights you only attended stops being a credential the first time someone checks. The list is worth something precisely because it is checkable.

Do past events disappear?

Dates that have passed stop showing in the upcoming block automatically, so you never have to go in and clear last month. The archive is a separate block that keeps them.

Where do pitches arrive?

In the email on your profile, not in a dashboard. A submission you have to remember to check is one you will find three weeks late.

Is this different from an artist page?

Same product, different blocks. The Dossier template is the one built for this: light background, framed images, laid out to be read as a document rather than a feed.
